On the interiors of an old house built in XVII, same that once belonged to revolutionary Andrés Quintana Roo, lies the heart of an amazing historical restaurant.
For 27 years this restaurant has welcomed musicians, artists, politicians (national and international), as well as tourists from all over the world, who are eager to enojoy some delicious regional food infused with a relaxed bohemian enviroment.
The walls of this cultural center, currently coated with art, have witnessed historical events and a 120 year old orchid tree welcomes the night.
The earth and sea menu combines, in a very exquisite way, ingredients we never thought could be served on the same plate. In Amaro you can find innovative dishes, traditional recipes from italian kitchen and delicious yucatecan cuisine like, “Cochitina Pibil”, “Lime Soup”, “Chicken with X’catik sauce” and “Chicken a la Yucateca”.
Some of the house specialties are; Pepper Steak with a side of scallions and mashed potatoes, the famous Enchiladas with mole or green sauce and, our favorite, Avocado Pizza that tastes even better with steak.
The sea menu recommendations are as good as they get; Gefilte Fish with spinachs and mushrooms bathed and a side of mashed potatoes, Coconut Shrimps and Fish fillets with almonds.
There’s algo good stuff for vegetarians, try the Eggaplant Meshe, an eggplant milanese filled with vegetables and melted cheese, served with tomato sauce and kol, or the Amaro salad, made with pepperts, tomatoes, carrots and avocado. We cannot forget about the fajitas filled with cheese and soy.
We’re sure your palate will be thankful.
