The Manatí pit, a.k.a as House Pit, receives its name after a series of manaties made this place their home.
The manaties managed to enter the cave through a series of ducts coming from the ocean, hence its name. The 19ft depth sinkhole has an eassy access to its beautiful crystal clear waters.
This wonderful place can be best used for snorkeling, diving and other subaquatic activities.
Luckily, this pit is one of the few remaining shallow rivers in the península that combines both sweet and salt water creature, among them; manaties, barracudas, blue crabs and some fish.
Without a doubt, you’ll find this natural resource greatly intriguing due to its beauty of inmense flora and fauna. Once you visit the pit you can always move to the beach which is only minutes away.
